NGO-CEDAW to Participate in Partnership and Inception Meeting on Women’s Economic Leadership in Kuala Lumpur

Kuala LumpurThis meeting is being proposed by Oxfam Novib, IWRAW Asia Pacific and partners from Southeast Asian countries, especially from the Mekong, and regional networks, working on CEDAW implementation, and on the area of women’s economic rights specifically, to begin a three year project partnership starting in August 2014 until December 2017 on a joint strategy for strengthening women’s economic leadership through enhancing their capacity to impact national and ASEAN level agenda and policymaking on issues related to women’s economic leadership.

This meeting will be conducted from August 11-13 2014 in Malaysia.

The nature of this project partnership is as a support strategy to supplement the existing strategies and advocacy of women’s groups in Mekong and Southeast Asia with IWRAW Asis Pacific acting as the project lead.
