People from Boeng Kak and Borei Keila community have sent the petition to Deputy Prime Minister Sok Ann, Minister of Council Minister, on September 7, 2012 to call for intervention in releasing land rights women activists, a Boeng Kak and Borei Keila community representative. In the petition, the people claimed that the arrests were made in relation with land dispute not with criminal issue. They also added that the authority tried to use the court to suppress, ban and threaten the people not to advocate their land and house rights. Mr. Bun Uy, secretary of state of Council Minister, came out to receive the petition and said to give this petition to the higher official for check. Mr. Pai Siphan, Council Minister Spokesman, also came out to persuade those people to disperse. At the same day, those people also sent a petition to US, Japan and EU embassy to call for intervention to release these two people.
