Woman from Borie Keila home attack injures one

A displaced woman from the Borei Keila community is in a serious condition in hospital after being attacked with a knife in a home invasion.

Pen Saron, 47, had returned to live in a flat in Borei Keila in Prampi Makara district after failing to find work at a relocation site in Kandal province. Srey Mom, Saron’s daughter, said she found her mother covered in blood at about 2 am yesterday, adding that before she passed out, Saron said she had been attacked by a “drug addict”. “When he found no money, he began to stab her and tried to kill her,” she said. Mok Borun Chhorsak, Veal Vong commune police chief, identified neighbor Pin Sitha, 25, who is at large, as the chief suspect. Saron was evicted in 2012 to make way for a Phan Imex development.
